Hermaphrodite disgraced in Sapele

There is nothin you will not see in Naija...this our country is a very hilarious place to live in...just enjoy the story below

From Tribune,

A man in his late 40s, who refused to utter a word despite the hysteria his presence generated, was almost lynched by a mob but for the intervention of police and other security agents.

The man, whose name could not be ascertained was discovered to possess a full grown pair of breasts, which dangled from his chest, just like those of a young woman.
An angry mob was going for the kill when security operatives were quickly drafted to the scene. Their (mob) grouse was that it was strange and unacceptable that a man would possess dual sex organs.

Young men near a filling station at the Sapele -Warri/New Road junction tore the man’s clothes, and revealed a very small male organ, allegedly with no scrotum – which to them suggested that he was a hermaphrodite.
Saturday Tribune gathered from some onlookers who claimed to know the man that he had been seeking spiritual solutions to his problem by moving from one church to another.

It was further learnt that at one of the churches, he started manifesting some strange behaviours while for some time he hid his male and female sexual organs from church officials who later found out his status as a hermaphrodite.

The voice and face of the man were masculine even as he was said to also have female reproductive organs.
Men of the Nigeria Police in Sapele, and the other security operatives who were drafted to scene, quickly dislodged the irate mob, who were taking turns to fiddle with the man’s sex organs, ostensibly to further confirm their suspicions that the man was really a freak.
He was thereafter spirited away by the police to the Sapele Police Station for protective custody and investigations....very sad

Gambian president warns homosexuals to stay away from the country or regret being born

Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh, has warned that any gay or lesbians found in the country will "regret" being born. During a speech on March 28th at the opening of the country’s parliament, President Jammeh said:
Homosexuality is anti-humanity. I have never seen homosexual chicken, or turkey. If you are convicted of homosexuality in this country, there will be no mercy for offenders.
Homosexuality is anti-god, anti-human, and anti-civilization. Homosexuals are not welcome in the Gambia. If we catch you, you will regret why you are born. I have buffalos from South Africa and Brazil and they never date each other. We are ready to eat grass but we will not compromise on this. Allowing homosexuality means allowing satanic rights. We will not allow gays here.
So homosexuals, biko stay away from the country! :-)

Speaking at the roll out event in Lagos, Mr. Walter Drenth, Marketing Director Nigerian Breweries plc said “over the years, Star Lager Beer has risen to become the number 1 favourite beer and the undisputed market leader in Nigeria. The brand has continued to keep its consumers actively engaged all year round through its exciting consumer engagement platforms that cut through music, football and consumer promotions”.

Star League – Text & Play, the Marketing Director stressed would be a consumer promotion with a difference. “It is an innovative platform where consumers would be actively engaged throughout the duration of the promotion, while they stand the chance to win exciting prizes in the process. It is unique, interesting and different. The Star League-Text & Play will run from April 2nd to May 31st, 2013.
The promotion is a crown cork based one- that means consumers will buy and open a bottle of Star, enjoy the rich taste, look under the crown cork and there they find their ticket to be part of the exciting Star League. There will be two categories of winning crown corks: The first 50% of crown corks will have codes with differentiated points in 5 bands of 10pts, 20pts, 30pts, 40pts and 200pts, while the remaining 50% of crown corks will carry the brand’s website address:  www.star-nigeria.com
To participate, consumers will send by SMS the code under the crown cork with their full name, age and state of residence to the short code 30383. Consumers must have a mobile telephone line from any of the mobile service providers in Nigeria, registered in their name. The SMS system will work with all major telecoms operators in the country.
The mobile phone number used to send the code will be used to register the consumer on the Star website and Star database. They will automatically get a response with the number of points earned per crown cork and a directive to check their “standing” on the “League Table” at (www.star-nigeria.com). This applies to every subsequent successful entry. The consumer will accumulate points over the period of the promo using the registered mobile number. With every subsequent successful entry, they will get a response with the cumulative points to date on that particular phone number.
What makes the promo more exciting is that consumers will have the opportunity to view their position by the points accumulated on a specially designed League table per State of entry on the Star website. At the end of the promotion, participants with the highest points from each “State League” will be rewarded as follows:
For each of the 36 States and Abuja: Top 15 winners get iPads® with customized sleeves; Next 550 winners get Premium head phones whileNext 1000 winners get Exclusive Star DVDs.
Noted for holding its consumers in very high esteem and for doing things in unique ways, the brand will add a personal touch to the winning experience. Hence, the prizes will be delivered personally to the different winners wherever they may reside in the country at their advised and verifiable physical addresses.“For Star, this is the least of its gestures at appreciating the consumers’ unwavering love for the brand”, Drenth concludes.

FG to stop UTME, NECO, others

FG to stop UTME, NECO, others

Indications emerged last night that the Federal Government may have resolved to scrap some of its agencies in line with the recommendations of the Steve Oronsaye-led Presidential Committee on the Rationalization and Restructuring of Federal Government Parastatals, Commissions and Agencies following the completion of study of its White Paper Committee report. Among those scrapped are Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE), National Examination Council (NECO), Public Complaints Commission, National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) and the Fiscal Mobilization and Allocation Commission among others.

The Oronsaye committee had recommended the abolition of 38 agencies, the merger of 52 and the reversion of 14 to departments in the ministries from which they were carved out, a move the committee argued would save the government more than N862 billion between 2012 and 2015 should its proposal be adopted. A reliable government source confirmed that President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo and selected senior aides of the president met twice and eventually took decisions, which included the scrapping of some agencies and merging of others.

Another source revealed that the with the scrapping of the UTME, individual universities in the country would conduct their own admission examinations and admit students while the Joint Matriculation and Examination Board will set and ensure compliance to standards as it acts as the clearing house. The source said JAMB would be modeled along the line of Universities and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS), the central organization through which applications are processed for entry to higher education in the United Kingdom.

According to the source, “individual university will do their own examination and admission. If you want to apply to a university, you do so but in order not to have a situation where one person gets multiple admission, JAMB acts as a clearing house to free up spaces. All the universities are free now to admit students.” Even though details were still being worked out, it was learnt that government’s decision, was informed by the need to promote merit in admission into the nation’s universities because “the idea is to ensure that the best students go to the best universities.”

The source further disclosed that the president had also approved that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) is now expected to take over the functions and vast infrastructure of NECO, which now ceases to exist. The sources confirmed that WAEC would now conduct two external examinations in a year, January and November. The Public Complaints Commission is to be merged with the Human Rights Commission, just as NAPEP would also be scrapped and replaced National Agency for Job Creation and Empowerment.

The Oronsaye-led Presidential Committee on the Rationalisation made far-reaching recommendations, which, it explained, were aimed at helping the government to effect a drastic reduction in the size of its bloated bureaucracy, eliminating duplication of functions and bringing down the cost of governance. The committee submitted its report to the president in April last year..
